Don’t overthink things - otherwise you never move forward

We all know these moments in life when we find ourselves at the point of making some very important decisions. Those decisions are the ones that we make to the long term and that will likely define our path in life for many years to come. Those decisions can include our career path, where we want to live and even who will be our partner in life. The problem is that as these decisions seem rather important to us, we are highly likely to feel some kind of overwhelming anxiety in the process of making them. If this is the case, don’t overthink them - otherwise you might never move anywhere.

We all know the feeling of lying in bed sometimes and thoughts just running round and round in circles without being able to switch off. We are faced with big decisions in our life and the more we think about this and desperately tell ourselves to get it right, the more anxious and clueless we find ourselves to be. It is almost a vicious cycle we cannot escape from.

Nobody says here don’t take your time to make important life changing decisions.

We just say do not overthink it. Do your extensive research, ask advice and for help from people that you can really trust and that understand the matter but then at some point you just have to listen to your gut and go for it. Otherwise, you will keep living in a world of theories but never act.

The message here is, don’t overthink it. What really is the worst that can happen, and would you rather do it or keep thinking about it? If you can answer all those questions with a practical approach, then you know what to do - just act and if it fails, then you at least tried.

Usually, it helps to at some point after looking at the hard pacts in every detail to just trust your gut feeling. Your heart usually knows what to do. Our gut can go a long way.

We all face times of important decisions in life, that can really overwhelm us. It is important then to sit back, take a moment of a break and don’t go round and round on your head. Just go with your gut feeling at some point - otherwise you might never make a move.
