Don’t be afraid of the new - it might be different, but it can also make you develop and grow

Currently, the world around us changes at a breathtaking pace. Further, when we consume the media every day, we are hit with apocalyptic scenarios of war, crisis, and negative outlook. It is understandable that this makes a lot of people feel depressed, be negative and even scared about the future. However, fear is never a good guidance. It blocks us in our thinking and personal development. Fear lets us go backwards rather than forward. We need to learn not to be so afraid about the future – it might be different but that does not always automatically mean worse.

A lot of us are worried about a lot of things these days. Will still be able to pay all of our bills in the future? Will our children still live the comfortable life we do today and have opportunities for property and growth? These are all concerns we must take seriously. However, we need to be careful not to get overwhelmed or consumed by those fears. It is still possible to look into a bright future.

It all starts with a deeper fear to change and the status quo. Over the past years, we have learned to get used to security and avoid risk. Those times are coming to an end now. We learn to live with a constant feeling of uncertainty and change and need to get used to there not being certainty or constant for a long time in our lives in the near future. People deal with change differently. Some welcome and embrace it and see it as a chance for development, while others reject it and become bitter. We now should actively decide, which path we decide to go for. Because one thing is certain the change and uncertainty is already here - if we like it or not.

Change can always be the start of something new. However, the reason why we are so into sticking to the status quo, it that we cannot imagine with all the negativity in the media currently for the future to be able to be any better than what we have today. Maybe that is not true for the world, but on an individual basis, it is indeed still possible to look into a bright future – we only need to embrace change and make the most of it. There are always opportunities in front of us, we must see them, evaluate them and then jump into the unknown without being afraid to lose out. The great news, even in the toughest of times there are always opportunities. Every crisis has winners and losers, and what makes the difference is how people deal with change, uncertainty, and difficult situations they find themselves in. We need to learn again to see opportunities rather than only problems, even if it means to completely go against the mainstream media with this.

It is time to move away from our past of security and standstill – to a future of uncertainty where there is however space for innovation and development for those are that willing to embrace change and always look out for the best opportunities ahead of them. He future might be different, but it can still be bright. The end of one thing is also always the start of something new – and we have to learn to see the best in that, rather than always assume the worst. It might not always work out – but it will surely increase our chances to live a long term happier and more fulfilled live, rather than being driven by fear and apocalyptic scenarios. It is time to have courage and be resilient – then the future will be bright – at least for those of us who have learned those traits.
