Learn to take a proper time out this holiday season – it is vital to recharge the batteries

It is that time of year again, the time where we can look forward to the Christmas holidays, to spend time with our loved ones and reflect on the past year, while hopefully being already full of plans and excitement for the next one. However, while planning and strategizing is very important, it is even more important to use the holiday season to really switch off and recharge the batteries to be full of power and energy again for a great 2023.

Switching off is vital, while however in a world of constant social media and mobile phones often incredibly hard to do. It is however very important. It is important that we manage to, at least for a time fully switch off and really live in the precious moments we will share with family, friends, and people that we love and are close to us. We all live busy lives throughout the rest of the year, with millions of appointments and responsibilities. It is therefore very important to fully let go and do the things that we enjoy most, even if it means doing absolutely nothing.

Christmas is such a great time to do this, as it is celebrated in so many parts of the world. Of course, not in all of them and it is not true that the world fully stands still currently of course, but it feels a little bit like it is at least spinning a bit slower for a few days. This is also for many of us the true magic of Christmas. The fact that people suddenly have time, reflect, are merry and do things they never have time for in the rest of the year. We suddenly manage to spend time together and without distraction listen to each other and exchange things that were important to us throughout the year. This is the beauty of Christmas that so many of us cherish.

Hence, we should use the spirit of exactly this magical Christmas period to switch off and fully recharge our batteries. Do the things we love, eating, sleeping watching cheesy movies and having great dinners with the family. Giving gifts to each other and most importantly take time to not be shamed to do absolutely nothing if we feel like it. Everybody has different plans and things they enjoy on their festive period, but it is important that we are not rushed to get the right gift and take part in another hectic retail occasion to make something seem or look perfect which really does not have to be perfect all together.

It is not far now anymore, just a few working days for most of us, then it is there again, Christmas. However, you might spend it, and wherever you might spend it, remember the core message of this holiday season is still love and togetherness. To fully carry this and enjoy this, we need to fully be in the moments we will experience with loved ones. This includes taking time out to recharge and leaving the world of social media and Instagram behind for a bit. It will still be there when we return in 2023.

So, at this point, it leaves me to wish you a Merry Christmas, and a happy new year 2023. May it hold many great things for you and bring you health and many other positive moments. Enjoy your holidays with loved ones wherever you celebrate. Keep reflecting, keep being courageous and curious also in the new year and life will hold many opportunities for you. I am sure of it, the future is bright, also in the new year 2023. Recharge and see you back here in 2023.
