Success means, solving problems.

Every single one of us desires to be successful. This can have many meanings. The most common form of success is associated to a person’s career. Here, we associate success with career progressing high incomes as well as personal and professional development towards becoming leaders and taking on increased responsibility.  However, we can also be a successful father or mother, a successful friend or managing to have a successful work life balance. Means, there are a lot of different levels of defining success, which is often forgotten.

Now that we have established, we can be successful in various ways, there is one common pattern they all have in common. Success is always about solving problems. This is the core of success; in whatever context we define it for ourselves.

Successful people are the ones that are good at solving problems, because solving problems means we move forward, develop, and become better at what we do. Very often therefore, successful people that are very good at finding solutions to various problems are seen as strong leaders. We often see these people as “doers”. Solving problems means progress, it means dynamism and a strong will to improve things. This is the core of successful people.

Let’s go back to the example from the start. If success is defined as solving problems, a mother that finds a solution for herself to have a healthy work life balance is as successful as a manager that find a better way to structure his or her team.  They both have solved a problem for themselves and ideally also for others, that leads to progress and a more efficient life.

The example shows what is meant by problem solving being the core of success. Many people however decide to live with problems they cannot seem to solve or just complain, as both those ways are a lot easier and involve less work than actively solving problems.  However. If we want to achieve long term happiness, we should develop into being successful people, by actively starting to find solutions to problems in whatever from they occur.

To conclude, success is not only defined by money or career progressing, but it can also have various forms and shades. Hover, they have one thing in common, it’s all about solving problems. Solving problems, automatically leads to success as it leads to improvement and progression. Also, it is of use to others. The core of being successful and ultimate happy therefore due to receiving appreciation, it to actively start solving problems.
