Take a moment to breath - it’s worth it 

We all know this feeling when life just seems really overwhelming. We are in a constant race with ourselves which feels incredibly hard and from time to time very pointless. Then, even more it is time to take a moment, take ourselves out of that situation and just breathe. Breathing and just taking a moment in very stressful situations can just help us to step back and see the situation at hand again in a rational rather than an emotional way.

Mindfulness is an ever growing trend for a reason. Many people are experiencing stress and anxiety on an increased level in a more and more complicated world. In that world, we need to find space for ourselves to distance us from the everyday race and pace in our mind.

So how do we do this?

One way, is to get into the open space. Walking through forests or looking over the sea into the distance all can help to give us space, and the feeling that we can breathe rather than feeling constantly trapped in our own thoughts. I can get a lot more of this distance for example since moving to the country side which I am convinced it very good for my own mindfulness rather than constantly being exposures to the hectic life of a city.

Another way of creating headspace can be the help opposites. When we feel sad, we should consciously take a moment and think about something funny we have experienced in the past. The idea is to think and do exactly the opposite of what we are feeling in a given situation. It can help us create space and evaluate the situation in a more positive, rational way rather than going into a spiral of negative emotions.

The ultimate goal is therefore in order for us to escape the race of our own mind to make space - to breath and to allow that headspace we create through breathing open our mind for more positive thoughts that lead to less anxiety. Only when we breath and look at the situation from distance, do we have the capacity to get that additional space to get into a more positive space with our thoughts.

Therefore, learn to breathe, take your time , it is so worth it.
