Things can happen - enjoy the moment
It feels like summer has finally arrived. It is the time of year where people are spending more time outside and many of us either already went or still can look forward to a nice holiday to relax with family. However, very often, even in this time of year, we struggle to really relax and switch off from the day-to-day Hussle. We have forgotten how it feels to really enjoy the moment and be fully emersed in spending time with loved ones. In a world that is becoming ever faster and more hectic around us - it is getting more and more difficult to switch off. However, we need to tell ourselves that things can happen at any moment and only building some kind of resilience will allow us to fully enjoy the moments and have that little but of relaxation time that is so important during the summer season.
A personal example of something that really frustrated me this week. I was very excited to move into a new property. Someone however in the chain has passed away now, which means both contracting and moving dates might be very much delayed. This is something however that I have no influence on and cannot change. I can now deal with the situation and accept it and draw conclusions from it. However, it should not ruin my entire summer or even my holidays. I can still enjoy my rental property for now with my family and make the best out of the situation.
What this situation shows is that thing in life happen all the time, at any moment they can go wrong, or destiny can just hit us in the face. We need to be able to build resilience for this, in order to be able to still enjoy the small moments of joy in our life. Otherwise, we might find out head constantly spinning.
Make the most out of summer therefore and don’t worry too much about the tomorrow. Things always happen and the world is becoming ever more complex and uncertain. Be mindful, minimize risks and make informed decisions with the best possible guidance but other than that, enjoy the ride, even if things sometimes go wrong or different than you thought.
Enjoy your holidays where ever you might spend them and learn to live a little in the moment. Worrying about everything that can go wrong and happen is not the best way forward. Keep telling yourself - things can happen at any moment, however, I might as well enjoy the ride until then.
